Nor'easter Expected Today in Waterford

National Weather Service: Wind and rainstorm could bring winds as high as 55 mph.

The National Weather Service is predicting that Waterford will be hit by a Nor’easter today, starting at 10 a.m. and continuing into Thursday, with the storm bringing heavy rains and wind gusts as high as 55 mph.

This storm comes just a few days after all town residents got their power back following Superstorm Sandy. Connecticut Light & Power has said it is fully prepared to deal with any potential power outages the storm might cause.

Today: A chance of rain and sleet before 10am, then rain. High near 46. Windy, with a northeast wind 25 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Tonight: Rain. Low around 37. Windy, with a north wind 20 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 60 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Thursday: Rain likely, mainly before 10am. Cloudy, with a high near 47. Breezy, with a north wind 20 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 39 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Thursday Night: A slight chance of rain before 10pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 37. North wind around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 53. North wind 11 to 14 mph.
