At the beginning of October, Jazzy Joy’s Java Joint and Shoreline Gifts opened on Rt. 32 in Quaker Hill, in the McCarthy Plaza. Patch ran a story on the new coffee shop and luncheonette and there was much excitement as the story was very well read.
One problem: it was hardly complete. The store, which promised to sell coffee, wraps and crepes, could not yet sell coffee, wraps and crepes.
That has changed. On November 16th, Jazzy Joy’s secured its license to sell coffee and wraps. The shop features roast beef, turkey and ham wraps, along with coffee from the New England Coffee Company, to go with its many collectibles for sale.
“It is very exciting,” Joy McMahon said, owner of Jazzy Joy’s. “It is finally starting to come together.”
And there is already some buzz. Patch ran into customers of Jazzy Joy’s at the store and many were excited about the wraps.
“She’s great,” said Kelly Smith, who works at McCarthy Oil, about McMahon. “And the guys at (McCarthy’s Oil) are excited about the wraps.”
McMahon still does not have a license to cook food at the store, so she cannot yet sell crepes. She plans on getting that eventually, and finally begin selling her specialty: peanut butter and jelly crepes.
Editor’s Note: Patch had a roast beef wrap and coffee combo Friday for lunch. And it was very good.
