Five things to know for Friday, March 29, 2013.

1. Today should be partly sunny, with a high around 50, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight should be mostly cloudy, with a low around 32, according to the service.

2. Happy Good Friday!

There is no school today at all Waterford schools and Town Hall, the Waterford Public Library and other municipal offices are closed. However, Good Friday is not a federal holiday, meaning federal offices are open. That means the post office is open, along with most banks.

3. Tonight is the Quaker Hill Fire Department’s 12th annual fish fry fundraiser. The fundraiser runs from 5 to 8 and features baked and fried fish, fries with coleslaw, desserts and a children’s menu. Dinner costs $12 per adult and $7 per child. For more information, click here.

4. Also this evening, three new movies open at Waterford’s Regal Cinemas.

The Host (PG-13), a love story from the creator of the Twilight series, plays at 1, 4:10, 7 and 9:50. Tyler Perry’s Temptation (PG-13), a comedy starring Kim Kardashian, among others, plays at 12:50, 4:15, 7:20 and 9:55. And G.I. Joe: Retaliation (PG-13), an action starring The Rock, plays at 12:40, 4:05, 6:50 and 9:35 and plays in 3D at 1:10, 4:30, 7:30 and 10:05.
