Daily Five: Waterford Giving Out Free Mulch

Five things to know for Monday, March 11, 2013.

1. Today should be partly cloudy, with a high around 49, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight, there is a chance of showers, and a low around 39, according to the service.

2. There is now free mulch available at the Waterford Beach parking lot on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Residents must transfer the mulch into their own vehicle. The mulch is available during Waterford Beach Park’s regular hours. To see what those are, click here.

3. Today is the absolute last chance to sign up for Waterford Little League North’s 2013 season. There will be a registration event tonight at the Waterford Community Center from 6 to 7.

It costs $85 to register for the major league, $70 for the minor league and $50 for T-ball.

4. Tonight, the Board of Finance continues its budget reviews. The Board of Finance will review all town department budget proposals for the 2013-14 fiscal year this month and then finalize its proposal on March 28th. It then goes to the Representative Town Meeting, who will finalize the budget in May.

Tonight, the Board of Finance will review the budgets of Conservation of Health, Flood and Erosion Control, the Economic Development Commission, the Conservation Commission, the Planning and Zoning Commission, the Zoning Board of Appeals, building maintenance and the building department.
