2. The Board of Education approved two new courses for Waterford High School students at their last meeting on Thursday.

The first is called athletic experience, a class only for seniors that is part of the physical education program. The class will teach sports leadership to seniors through cooperative teaching, one-on-one skill work, officiating, coaching and other ways, according to a memo from Assistant Superintendent Craig Powers.

The second is to turn the jazz ensemble into a one credit class. Right now, the jazz ensemble meets twice-a-week after school as an extra-curricular activity. The new plan makes it a class during the school day. To compensate it for it, the symphonic band and the concert band classes will be combined into one class.

3. The Conservation Commission did not rule on a proposal by Kobluck Brothers LLC at their last regularly-scheduled meeting on Thursday night.

However, the commission is holding a special meeting on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in Town Hall. There, the commission will rule on the application as they have run out of extensions.
