1. Today should be sunny, with a high of 79, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight should be clear as well, with a low of 59, according to the service.

2. Bertrand Chenard’s last day on the planning and zoning commission is today. He submitted his resignation because he is moving out of Waterford, Town Clerk Robert Nye said.

This could affect the public hearings on Seaside because Chenard raised several questions about and seemed generally skeptical of the data. Chenard will either be replaced by an alternate or the commission will be down one member during the Seaside hearings.

Also, just a quick clarification. Several residents complained about Steiner not submitting a plan as part of his proposal to change zoning regulations at Seaside. Usually, when somebody is proposing to change zoning regulations, they do not submit a plan, Town Planner Mark Wujtewicz said. However, Steiner has the option to submit a plan, possibly quelling concerns of some residents.

3. The Representative Town Meeting will hold a special meeting tonight on a new fund balance policy expected to give the town an edge in . The new policy must be adopted tonight to take effect for the next fiscal year, which starts Friday. The timing is important, board of finance members said, because the board of education is about to negotiate five new contracts this summer, including the teachers union’s contract, which is the largest labor group in town with the highest base salary.

4. Today is the last day to buy dog licenses at the town clerk’s office. The price is $8 for neutered dogs and $19 for others. After today, there is a $1 fine for each month the license is late and the dog is technically in violation.
