1. Today, snow is expected, with 16 to 25 mph sustained winds and gusts as high as 45 mph, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight, heavy winds and snow is expected, with accumulation between 11 and 17 inches possible, according to the service.
2. The Waterford Stop & Shop is undergoing some renovations, renovations many people in Waterford believe is desperately needed.
On Thursday, we confirmed that Stop & Shop is renovating its store, at least to some degree (we hope to have a full story on that soon). We put a post on Waterford Patch’s Facebook page saying it is being renovated and asked if it was needed. The answer? An overwhelming yes.
“YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” wrote Kristina Marie Flint, who wrote in on Waterford Patch’s Facebook page and echoed many other comments.
“Yes!,” Joanne Matthew wrote. “I go to Montville Stop & Shop because it is a nicer store!”

The Waterford Police Department is attempting to learn the identity of the pictured subject who allegedly stole a $400 golf club from the Dick's Sporting Goods store on Rt. 85 in Waterford on Wednesday at approximately 12:45 p.m.

Griffith’s highly successful but highly controversial film The Birth of a Nation premiered.
