2. Monday night, the Planning and Zoning Commission approved a zone change at 1055 Hartford Turnpike to allow a financial institution. The change was necessary so could build its corporate headquarters at the location, Thomas Cummings of CLA Engineers, who was representing the credit union, said.

Currently, the credit union has a few corporate offices, including one in Groton, rather than one headquarters, Cummings said. This building would allow the credit union to have one main office, he said.

Waterford Planning Director Tom Wagner said the zone change fits into the “” and the Planning and Zoning Commission passed the change unanimously without comment.

No plans have yet to be submitted to the commission, as first the zone change was necessary, Cummings said. 1055 Hartford Turnpike is at the intersection of Hartford Turnpike and Industrial Drive, and is a residence.
