Daily Five: Cancer Center Proposal Being Heard By Town Boards

Five Things To Know For Wednesday, March 21, 2012

1. This morning should be cloudy, but then clear up by 9 a.m. and be mostly sunny, with a high near 68, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight should be partly foggy, with a low around 49, according to the service.

2. is now being heard by the town’s Planning and Zoning Commission and the Conservation Commission.

The original address for the property was 475 Boston Post Road, but has since been changed to 230 Waterford Parkway South. The 100-acre piece of property has frontage on both roads.

According to the Conservation Commission minutes from their March 8th meeting, the applicant is proposing to develop 18 acres on the property. That includes the proposed 45,000 square foot cancer treatment center and 90 parking spaces.

There is no city water or sewer to the property. The applicant is proposing to extend water and sewer lines from Boston Post Road to the facility, according to the minutes.

3. The Board of Education has been filming all of its meetings and putting on its website. Also, along with meetings, there are other videos.

4. Tonight, the Board of Finance continues its budget reviews. Tonight the board will review the public works budget, the capital improvements budget and the transfers to capital and non-recurring budget.
