Five Things To Know For Thursday, April 19, 2012

2. Wednesday night, the Board of Finance approved a request by Southeastern Area Transit (SEAT) to pay them $5,812 for the 2011-12 fiscal year.

However, the town later received a legal opinion that said they were statutorily obligated to pay the bill. Wednesday night, the Board of Finance voted to pay the bill.

3. Tonight, the Board of Education meets at 7 inside Town Hall.

The board will review the contracts of all non-tenured teachers in the Waterford School District. The board has the ability not to renew any of those contracts if the district deems the teacher is not meeting expectations. Also tonight, the board will review and possibly act on safe school climate plans and a technology plan.
