Five Things To Know For Monday, Jan. 23, 2012

1. Today, there is a chance of rain, with a high around 50, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight, the rain could continue, with a low around 37, according to the service.

2. At the Conservation Commission meeting on Jan. 12, the commission agreed to release the , according to meeting minutes. Planning Director Tom Wagner and Zoning Enforcement Official Michael Glidden walked the site after a heavy rain, and Wagner said it held up well, according to the minutes. This was the third violation issued by the Conservation Commission on the Waterford High School project, all for problems with stormwater runoff.

3. Today, there are early childhood screening sessions at all three elementary schools (, and ) for 3- and 4-year-olds in Waterford. Each screening lasts about an hour. To sign up for a screening, call one of the three elementary schools.
