2. Another month, another fundraiser by the Ad Hoc Animal Shelter Facility Study Committee,

This time, there is a Cut-A-Thon at in Waterford on June 10 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. People can come in and get a haircut and a shampoo for a $20 donation to build a new animal shelter. For the event, Waterford Police Officers will act as waiters at the restaurant, with all donations going to the Connecticut Special Olympics. The event is one Waterford Police do for the special olympics.

4. Monday night, republicans from the 20th District nominated Mike Doyle to take on state Sen. Andrea Stillman, D-Waterford, in the upcoming November election. Doyle is from New London.
