2. Thursday, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission approved for the first time since 1978, according to timesunion.com.

The NRC approved a plan by Southern Company to install a nuclear power plant in eastern Georgia. It is the first time the NRC approved a nuclear power plant since the partial meltdown of the Three Mile Island nuclear plant in Pennsylvania, according to timesunion.com.

3. Tonight, the Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing on a proposal by Kobyluck Brothers LLC . The Conservation Commission is holding a public hearing on the same proposal as well.

4. This is the last full week of school before February break. Next week, all Waterford Public Schools will be off the first two days because of February break.
