All Smiles at Clark Lane's Trivia Night

Friday, Clark Lane Middle School held its annual trivia night to benefit Little Hearts Inc and Saving Little Hearts.

At Clark Lane Middle School Friday night, it was trivia for a cause.

The school held its annual trivia night Friday, where Team The Smart Lizards was crowned champions. However, the real winners were the two charities the event benefited, Little Hearts Inc and Saving Little Hearts.

The school picked those two charities, which both benefit children with congenital heart defects, because Clark Lane Middle School teacher Lisa Mellon has a child with a congenital heart defect. Mellon's daughter, Marisa, underwent open-heart surgery when she was three-months-old and when she was five-months-old, but she is now a healthy, active girl.

Calvin Thibeau, Benjamin Yao, Lilly Partridge, Destiny Hsieh, Sophie Joseph and Catherine Yao were the students on Team The Smart Lizards. Clark Lane Middle School teacher Nicole Kennedy and Kevin Larrow created the trivia questions, with Clark Lane Middle School Principal Jim Sachs serving as the event's host.

Thank you, Clark Lane, for supporting Little Hearts, Inc. and Saving Little Hearts! Marisa had her second surgery when she was five years old and she is doing well.
We wish we could have been there for Trivia Night, but Marisa was participating in Fantastic Folklore and Fairytales at Oswegatchie School. Congratulations to The Smart Lizards (especially my former students Destiny, Sophie, and Catherine)! -Lisa Mellon

Wow, what a wonderful job on this video (and not just because I'm in the last 2 seconds of it!) It's an art, the way you look at the room and capture all those moments. I felt like I was watching a movie:) It was a fun event, a good cause and yes, Go Lizards (we didn't mind losing to you:)
