Waterford Hotel Group Wins Pineapple Award

The award recognizes those who exhibit excellence in developing promoting tourism in the state of Connecticut.


A Waterford-based company that manages several hotels in the area such as the Mystic Marriott Hotel and Spa, Springhill Suites by Marriott Waterford and the Connecticut Convention Center recently won an award given to companies in the tourism industry.

The Waterford Hotel Group won a Pineapple Award for Tourism Ambassador during the May 21 Connecticut Conference on Tourism.

According to the press release, "A tourism ambassador An organization recognized for consistently supporting tourism with value added contributions." 

The Pineapple Awards "recognizes those individuals and organizations that exemplify tourism excellence in Connecticut.  Named for the international symbol of hospitality, the Pineapple Awards honors people and places from the three state tourism districts – Eastern, Central and Western."
