Trucking To Somerville With The Munchies

Waterford-based food truck, Munchies, will be heading to Massachusetts for the first Holiday Arts and Eats Festival featuring winterized food trucks from far and wide.

The new Holiday Arts & Eats Festival at Assembly Row in Somerville to be held this Friday through Sunday, December 6th, 7th, and 8th, will be the area’s first-ever winter Food Truck festival, in conjunction with an artisan market, local musicians, a beer and wine tent, a holiday train ride, and several other holiday and children’s activities. The artisan market and all activities will be held under a festive heated tent.

Each truck will be serving a variety of popular food items including all things Bacon from The Bacon Truck, waffles and more from Green Been Mobile Café, holiday themed dessert treats from Kickass Cupcakes and the Whoo(pie) Wagon. Frozen Hoagies will also be serving Belgian waffles with homemade ice cream, hot chocolate, hot cider, floats and more. Other trucks will be serving up anything from vegan wraps and authentic Thai dishes to mac ‘n cheese, savory crepes, sliders, and more.

Friday night, December 6th, will be a 21+ only evening called “Holiday Arts & Eats After Dark,” featuring multiple bar areas with beer and gluhwein (hot wine), live bands and DJ, in addition to the Food Trucks and artisan market. Friday night admission is $10.

Saturday and Sunday, December 7th-8th is more of the Food Trucks, artisan market, Santa and an array of kid’s activities all day from11am-6pm. Special “early” VIP entry costs $15 from 11am-12pm for shorter lines, and regular admission from 12pm-6pm costs $5 and is free for children 12 and under.

Holiday Arts & Eats is also partnering with the Greater Boston Food Bank. There will be a food drive area set up for the duration of the event for anyone to donate to help those less fortunate. Food items must be sealed and non-perishable.

Assembly Row is easily accessible by car with on-and-off access from I-93 via exit 28 and exit 29, on Route 28, and via public transportation with both Sullivan Square and Wellington Circle stations are both less than a mile away. Free parking is available.
