The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT recently held its annual member dessert showcase “How Sweet it is…Desserts on the Thames” on board Cross Sound Ferry’s Sea Jet 1.
More than 160 people embarked on an evening journey on the Thames River and Long Island Sound to network and sample desserts from Chamber member restaurants and caterers.
Attendees voted on their favorite sweets in a variety of categories and awards for the friendly competition were presented at the end of the night. The Chamber is proud to recognize the following winners:
Gourmet Galley Catering: Sweetest Dessert
Foxwoods Resort Casino: Best Presentation
Octagon Steakhouse: Most Original Dessert
Panera Bread: Best Use of Chocolate
Ivy’s Simply Homemade: Best Summer Treat
Captain’s Pizza and Foxwoods also provided a variety of hors d’oeuvres to couple with the numerous desserts. Bar services were provided by Cross Sound Deli Services.
Tony Sheridan, the Chamber’s President and CEO, is grateful to these small businesses for their participation. “These companies, especially the small ones, represent the core of the region’s economy and play a crucial role in providing jobs for the region. I encourage all of our member companies to patronize them. Supporting our small businesses is good for the entire region.”
The evening was made possible in part through the generosity of the event host, Cross Sound Ferry Services, in conjunction with Beecher Carlson and MetroCast Business Services.
