Jared’s, EMS Plaza Sells for $9.4 million

Sale between Minnesota and New York companies means $117,500 to the state and $23,500 to the town.

Just before the start of 2013, the strip mall that holds Jared’s Jewelers and Eastern Mountain Sports in Waterford was sold for $9.4 from a Minnesota company to a New York Company.

On Dec. 26, a sale was finalized between Chesapeake Corporate Realty LLC of Minnesota to Charter Oak Commons of New York LLC for 145 Dayton Place for $9.4 million. The property, 145 Dayton Place, is a strip mall located across the street from the Crystal Mall that holds Eastern Mountain Sports and Jared’s Jewelers.

Miracle Ear, a store that specializes in hearing aids, is moving into the strip mall soon. According to the sale agreement, Charter Oak Commons will take over all leases existing at the property.

The property transfer, as all transfers do, will provide both revenue to the State of Connecticut and the Town of Waterford. For the sale, Chesapeake paid $117,500 to the state in taxes and another $23,500 to the town.
