Developer Seeks To Build Condos On Miner Lane

New Haven company wants to put 48 condos in Waterford

Monday night, the Planning and Zoning Commission accepted an application by 22 Miner Lane LLC to install 48 condos in eight separate buildings at 22 Miner Lane. The Conservation Commission has already approved the proposal.

22 Miner Lane LLC will install a road that it will own and maintain. The application features 43 two-bedroom condos and five three-bedroom condos.

There is no clubhouse or community building involved in the project. Instead, there is a gazebo, with the eight buildings circling around it.

There is currently a house at 22 Miner Lane, which will be demolished as part of the project. 22 Miner Lane LLC is from New Haven, although Patch could not find a contact number for the developer.

The Planning and Zoning Commission still has to hold a public hearing on the application before it can vote on it.

It is 22 Miner Lane LLC. Anyway, in the spirit of full transparency I was not aware such a service existed until you two brought it up. Thank you - that will come in handy.

Just what Waterford needs, more housing that cannot be filled. Does Waterford have a land trust? Like Old Lyme? If so, why can't property that is no longer being "used" be bought by a land trust and left alone as open space?

Paul,
Any idea if Miner Lane will be extended to the Braman Rd or Pepper Box Rd area? Miner Lane is a dead end street and with flooding at the Great Neck Rd & Rope Ferry Rd intersection it is sometimes impossible for the towns emergency vehicles to get through. It would be great to have an alternative route for our emergency vehicles in case we have storms again that cause Great Neck Rd to close.
