Willis, a 6-month-old mini donkey, is the newest addition to and has the dual responsibility of entertaining guests during business hours and protecting a herd of sheep after dark.
Farmer Pete Bargmann brought Willis to his new home Thursday just in time to greet customers on the opening day of .
"They're getting to know each other," said Bargmann of the donkey and sheep. "They're (donkeys) are very protective."
Bargmann said it's a good thing he bought Willis this year because the sheep will need protection from a mother cayote and her five pups that live in the woods nearby.
Bargmann said Willis is friendly and affectionate and will soon roam free on the farm and greet customers.
