This Weekend: Halloween Spooktacular, New London Halloween Town

Don't miss The Rocky Horror Picture Show, MASH Fall Festival, the Haunted Library, the pumpkin carving demonstration at Foxwoods and more!

All of the ghouls and goblins will be hitting the town this weekend—and so should you! With fall weather settling in and Halloween festivities in full swing, the possibilities for your weekend agenda are endless. We’ve picked out a few events for you to start with, but be sure to reference our and calendar for the full low-down on all there is to do this weekend. Oh, and have a hauntingly good Halloween!

WHERE/WHEN: Friday from noon to 3 p.m. by California Pizza Kitchen and from 5 to 8 p.m. near the Grand Pequot Rotunda. Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Rainmaker Square.

WHY GO: He’ll carve 300-pound pumpkins on Friday—awesome. He’ll tackle a 1,568-pound pumpkin on Saturday—even more awesome.

PRICING: No charge.

WHERE/WHEN: Friday from 6 to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 3 to 10 p.m. in downtown New London.

WHY GO: Two days jam-packed with Halloween fun. Patch will be there, so you know it’s gonna be good.

PRICING: Many events are free. Fees for Lynx tours are $7 for adults and free to kids under 12 and sails are $55 for adults, $45 for seniors and $30 for kids 4 to 12.

WHERE/WHEN: Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Olde Mistick Village.

WHY GO: Horse-drawn wagon hayrides, live music, costume contests, a performance from the Emerson Theatre Collaborative and more!

PRICING: All proceeds benefit the Mystic Area Shelter & Hospitality, Inc.

WHERE/WHEN: Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. at .

WHY GO: Costume contests, crafts, fitness games and lots of Halloween fun—all for a great cause!

PRICING: Suggested donation is $5 per child.

WHERE/WHEN: Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.

WHY GO: Are you daring enough to brave the haunted library basement? We hope you’ll make it out alive!

PRICING: Cost is $5 to benefit library activities. Please bring a canned good to donate to the Groton Food Locker.

WHERE/WHEN: Sunday at 11:45 p.m. at Mohegan Sun’s Cabaret Theatre.

WHY GO: Ring in Halloween with this classic favorite!

PRICING: Admission is free, but first-come first-served.
