This Weekend: "Give Me a Happy Home" Holiday Open House, Concert at Waterford High School

Don't miss the holiday entertainment and party at the Crystal Mall and the USCG Holiday Concerts!

 

Have you decked your halls? Finished your shopping yet? Bake any cookies? Well, hopefully you have, because you won’t have much free time this weekend. Yeah, we know there’s lots of holiday-ness going on, but that doesn’t mean we’re not going to overload you with more happenings! It’s what we do. So check out our list of local events going on this weekend and see what fits into your schedule!

WATERFORD:

Find out what's happening in Waterfordwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

  • : Bring the family to the Connecticut Humane Society on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. And maybe you’ll meet a new friend to bring home for the holidays!
  • HOLIDAY ENTERTAINMENT AT THE CRYSTAL MALL: Check out the on Thursday, on Saturday and the on Sunday.
  • : Since you’ll be at the mall shopping and visiting Santa, stop by the Kidgits party! It’s Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.
  • : Don’t miss Sunday’s 2 p.m. performance at Waterford High School! Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for seniors and children.

GROTON

  • : Fundraiser will be held on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Groton Senior Center. A donation of $5 per person is suggested.
  • : Breakfast will be held on Saturday at 8 a.m. at the Center Groton Fire District. Cost is $5 per person.
  • : Drop by the Groton Senior Center for the Saturday performance! The show starts at 2 p.m. No registration required.
  • : Sunday’s show at 3 p.m. at the City of Groton Municipal Building kicks off the 2012 season of City Cabaret. Show is free.

LEDYARD:

  • : Puppet shows, storytelling, crafts and more at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Activities free with museum admission.
  • : The ten LHS choirs will perform on Friday and Saturday nights from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Tickets are $5 per person.
  • : The final performance of the season will be on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the auditorium of the Mashantucket Pequot Museum. Tickets range from $15 to $40 each.

MONTVILLE:

  • : Stop by the sale on Saturday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Fair Oaks School Community Center.
  • : Don’t miss Santa on Saturday afternoon as he tours the Mohegan area! He’ll swing through around 4:30 p.m.
  • : Time is running out to get your tree! If your home is still tree-less, be sure to stop by the sale, open Monday through Friday from 1 to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. in front of Tri-Town Foods.
  • MOHEGAN ENTERTAINMENT: Lauryn Hill, Chubby Checker and more big names hit the stage at Mohegan Sun this weekend.

NEW LONDON:

  • : Stop by the fair trade store for some shopping on Thursday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. and 10 percent of your purchase will support Sound Community Services.
  • : Enjoy the 2 p.m. hour-long matinee or the full-length version at 7 p.m. at Leamy Hall. All shows are free and open to the public.
  • : All are invited to the service at the Pequot Chapel on Sunday at 5 p.m. But dress warmly—the chapel isn’t heated!

STONINGTON:

  • ENTERTAINMENT AT on Friday, on Saturday and lecture on Sunday.
  • : Enjoy a free holiday concert at the Calvary Church on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Show is free, but please make a reservation.
  • : Breakfast will run from 8 to 10 a.m. on Saturday. Be sure to bring your wish list! Tickets are $10 for members and $12 for non-members.
  • : Caroling will be held on Sunday from 3 to 4 p.m. Admission to the Seaport is free from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday with the donation of a non-perishable food item or cash.
  • : All are welcome to attend Sunday’s sing-along from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m. at the Calvary Church.
