Save the Penguins!

Hard Rock Cafe

At 6 p.m. tonight enjoy live music, drinks, eats and...penguins! The Hard Rock Cafe at Foxwoods and the Mystic Aquarium are working together to raise money for an endangered species. According to the Mystic Aquarium, “100 percent of ticket sales will be directly benefiting Mystic Aquarium’s African penguin conservation efforts. The African penguin became endangered in 2010 and this event will feature several of Mystic Aquarium’s 30 resident African penguins for all to see”. Tickets are $30 and include a array of cocktails and food. Tickets are available the night of the event, however, it is strongly urged you purchase them beforehand. XL Center

For all the hip hop and R&B fans, join Hot 93.7 FM in welcoming some of the biggest artist to Hartford tonight! Lupe Fiasco, Fabolous, Lloyd Banks, Big Sean, Jeremih and more. In addition, there will be two surprise guests! Contests and giveaways from the radio station are guaranteed. The beats start at 7 p.m. Hot937.radio.com has further details.

Pool Party with Tyrese

MGM Grand Pool

This Friday you can flaunt your summer body at MGM's pool! For all you out of shape guys, don't fret, most of the girls will be ogling Tyrese's bod anyway! Tyrese has appeared in “2 Fast 2 Furious”, “Flight of the Phoenix”, “Transformers” and is also known for his vocals in the R&B group, Ginuwine. MGM at Foxwoods does charge $25 for this event, but there are numerous food and drink specials at surrounding restaurants and bars during the party.

Saturday, June 4

Chowder Cook Off

Newport, R.I.

From 12 to 6 p.m. indulge in all you can eat clam chowder at this seafood festival There will be live music on three stages, activities for children and plenty of varying types of chowder competing in three different categories. This event is at the Newport Yachting Center in Newport, RI. Adults are 25 clams (or $25) and kids under 12 are free.

Summer Party

Captain Scott's

Its a "Summer Kick-Off" party! BYOB and enjoy a lobster roll or fried clams outside at Captain Scott's.  There will be live music starting at 4:30 p.m.  The prices are reasonable, the food is good, and you can never go wrong with BYOB!

Prom Night

Dust off that prom dress you were saving for....nothing! If you were smart and got rid of yours, you can always check out local thrift stores for cheap options!  The VFW in Waterford is hosting a “Ska Prom” for all ages. Pretend your in high school again minus all the drama.  Tickets are around $10, however the cheap drinks will easily make up for the ticket price.  Prom attire a must, no matter how tacky! Doors open at 6 p.m. Don't forget to request "Stairway to Heaven" as the night closes!

Spring Festival

Jonathan Edwards Winery

North Stonington's Jonathan Edwards Winery invites you to their 2011 Spring Festival. Tickets are $20 and good for both days. Each ticket welcomes you to live music, wine tasting, barrel roll contest, airbrush tattooing, tarot card reading, and a photo booth. Any wino is sure to have a fun time!
