Waterford Schools Will Dismiss Early Today

Here's an update on what to expect from the weather today. If you know of any closings, please post them in the comments.

With two to four inches of snow expected today, the National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for New London County from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

So how is it going to affect your day? For the most part, the biggest impact will be on schools.

  • The Friendship School is closed.
  • Waterford Schools will be dismissing students early.
  • New London has a citywide parking ban from 8 a.m. on.
  • The Department of Motor Vehicles canceled all morning road tests for today. Road tests were expected to resume at 1 p.m. but that may change depending on road conditions. You'll find updates on the DMV website. Anyone with a scheduled road test can call DMV 800-842-8222.
As of 8 a.m., snowfall was predicted to begin midmorning, possibly stopping for a couple of hours midday before starting up again after lunch. Heavier snow is expected from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.. Weather.com is predicting it will taper off to snow showers this evening but snow isn't expected to stop until late tonight.

If you know of any weather-related closings, please do post them in the comments. Drive safely!
