The Waterford Police Department will be collecting donations today at the Waterford Walmart for a Newtown victim with Waterford ties.
The department’s staff will be collecting donations from 3 to 8 today at the Waterford Walmart on behalf of first grader Ana Marquez-Greene, who died in the Newtown shootings, which will be given to the Ana Grace Marquez-Greene Family Therapy Fund and the Ana Grace Marquez-Greene Music Scholarship fund. This is her family’s wishes.
Marquez-Greene’s father, Jimmy Greene, has musical ties to Waterford, as he taught several Waterford students and performed in Waterford with the WCSU jazz combo together with Waterford High School musicians, according to the Waterford Police Department.
