VIDEO: Waterford Lights Its Christmas Tree

Tuesday night was Waterford's annual tree lighting ceremony at Waterford Town Hall.

Tuesday evening, a small but enthusiastic crowd circled around Town Hall’s front entrance for Waterford’s annual tree lighting ceremony.

The event began with carolers from Waterford High School’s chorus and Waterford’s girl scouts singing Christmas songs. Then, Santa Claus came riding in on a Jordan fire truck and greeted the children.

After some brief introductions, he joined First Selectman Dan Steward for the lighting of the Christmas tree. When the lights flashed on after a 10 second countdown, the crowd responded with applause.
