Snow This Morning, Flood Watch Saturday

There are no school delays as of 6:30 a.m. but allow extra time for this morning's commute

Give yourself some extra time for this morning's commute. Light snow was falling steadily before dawn and was expected to continue through about 7 a.m., with up to an inch of snow expected. Snow is likely to reduce visibility to one mile or less at times. As of 6:30 a.m., no school delays had been posted for Waterford or New London.

Snow is likely to melt pretty quickly as temperatures rise to 41 degrees. Rain is expected to follow and will continue through Saturday, when temperatures will rise to 53 degrees. The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for New London County from Saturday morning through to Saturday night. Heavy rain, up to one-and-a-half to two-inches, is expected.

Sunday should be partly cloudy and windy, with high temperatures of 44 degrees and an overnight low of 31 degrees.
