Science plays a role in this year's Summer Reading Programs, "Fizz, Boom, Read!" The nationwide theme was chosen by the Collaborative Summer Library Program. It combines reading with science experiments to help bridge the learning gap for students during summer vacation.
At the Waterford Library, Summer Reading starts on Monday, June 23. Watch for activation of online registration links. Children and teens are invited to read books, have fun and win prizes in the Summer Reading Program.
There are also many free programs each week to keep your kids busy, learning and having fun. On Saturday, June 21, from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. they host "Crafty Kids." This is a make and take craft program for all ages. All materials are provided free.

On Saturday, June 28, from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Lotta Legos will have kids diving into plastic containers filled with colorful building bricks to create a work of art. For children in kindergarten and up.
