This morning’s lightning storm has caused 199 town homes to be out of power, or 2 percent of all of Waterford, although few other issues, according to Waterford police and Connecticut Light & Power.
However, other towns haven’t been so lucky. The Day is reporting that up to 15 employees of Lake of Isles Golf Course in North Stonington were injured from the lightning storm this morning, with nine being brought to the hospital.
Meanwhile, The Bulletin is reporting that the roof covering the gas pumps at the Henny Penney convience store at the Salem Four Corners has collapsed. The Bulletin is reporting that there were no injuries from the collapse.

The National Weather Service is predicting isolated showers for Waterford this afternoon, with thunderstorms possible after 4 p.m. Tonight, there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms until midnight, according to the service.
