Today from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the UConn branch of the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity is holding a “car smash” in front of the student union, according to The Courant. The event has people pay money to use a sledgehammer to smash a car.

All money raised from the event will go to a deserving student at UConn's School of Business, according to The Courant. Fred Klorcyk said he will match all funds raised.

Klorczyk, 21, in Waterford. He was working on a car when the jack failed and crushed him. Klorczyk was studying finance at UConn and was a member of the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity.
