Sochi Apps Let You Get in on the Action

The Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, start February 6 and sports fans everywhere will be watching as the world’s best athletes compete for the gold. AT&T is the official networking services provider, helping to deliver high-definition coverage of the games on all devices — from your smartphone to your tablet and television.

To show its support for Team USA, AT&T developed a custom app to make both travel and communications easier for athletes and coaches during Olympic and Paralympic events. The app will feature a calendar and maps and logistical information.

For fans at home, there are lots of great Olympics apps to help you enjoy the games:

- Show your spirit! The free AT&T #ItsOurTime app is available for both Android and IOS users, and it allows you to record yourself encouraging the team with a “U-S-A” chant.

- The free Olympic Athletes’ Hub app is available for IOS andAndroid users. This app helps fans easily follow athletes’ Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts. This will allow you to learn more about your favorite Olympians, such as Rhode Island native and pairs figure skater @MarissaCastelli.

- Check out the free 2014 Team USA Road to Sochi app forAndroid and IOS  users. This app allows you to send encouragement to your favorite Team USA athletes via Facebook and Twitter. It also features bios, photo galleries and video clips, and you can purchase Team USA gear. 

- To stay up-to-date on all the happenings in Sochi, Android users can download the free Sochi 14 app. The app includes a countdown to the start of the Opening Ceremony, a schedule of events, and a medal count. IOS users can check out the free Sochi 2014 Winter Games schedule app. 

- With the Team USA Pinsanity app, you can get memorabilia from the Olympics right on your phone! The free app allows you to collect and trade hundreds of Team USA virtual Olympic pins. It is available for IOS and Android users. 

- You may not be able to go skiing in Sochi, but Android users can take to the slopes when using the free Sochi Winter Olympic Ski Star app. All you have to do is avoid the obstacles and collect the medals! IOS users can try the free Ski Champion app.  

- The Olympic Games are both a physical and mental contest. Test your knowledge of the games with Olympic Sport Quiz-Sochi for Android users. The free app offers a variety of questions about the history of the Olympic Games and the individual events. IOS users can check out a similar free app, the Ultimate Sports Trivia-Olympic Edition

- If hockey is your sport, the free USA Hockey Mobile Coach app for IOS and Android users will be a useful tool. The app will provide you with easy access to tips from the pros. 

- Finally, do you dream of performing a triple axel on the ice? Try the free Figure Skating app. It is a game that allows you to pick your figure skater and your rink. You even get to set the program. The app is available for both IOS and Android users.
