Macy’s and March of Dimes invite customers to participate in the seventh annual “Shop For A Cause” charity shopping event at Macy’s throughout Connecticut on Saturday, August 25, 2012. “Shop For A Cause” is Macy’s unique one-day-only shopping event that was created to support local charities’ fundraising efforts, which has helped raise more than $42 million for charitable organizations across the country since 2006.
Connecticut Macy’s locations include Danbury, Enfield, Farmington, Manchester, Meriden, Milford, Stamford, Trumbull, Waterbury and Waterford.
“This sale is a great way for families to shop for their fall necessities and give back at the same time,” said Lauren Pallone, March of Dimes Connecticut volunteer and mission mom. “Whether families are shopping for back to school
fashions or getting a jump start for the holidays; these saving passes show Macy’s corporate responsibility and support for the families in our community.”
On Saturday, August 25th, customers making a purchase with a “Shop For A Cause” savings pass will receive 25% on regular, sale and clearance merchandise, as well as 10% off watches, furniture, mattresses and area rugs,
plus are eligible to win a $500 gift card. Shopping passes sold at Macy’s stores and macys.com are $5 each, and will benefit March of Dimes. The organization will receive 100% of every ticket sold at Macy’s stores and on macys.com. Shopping passes are only sold on macys.com on August 25, but customers may purchase shopping passes in advance at all Macy’s locations starting August 15. By purchasing a shopping pass in store, customers can

Last year alone, Macy’s raised $3.2 million for the March of Dimes mission to give moms full-term pregnancies and healthy babies.
