4/29 Panel Discussion for Prescribers
Local prescribers, are you interested in joining the conversation about prescription drug abuse in our communities? If so, you are invited to a prescription drug abuse panel discussion on Tuesday, April 29 at 7:00 a.m. in the L+M Baker Auditorium.
The event will kick-off with a keynote address by Dr. Gail D’onofrio, Professor and Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Yale School of Medicine.
Panelists will include Dr. Bernard Giserman of Pediatric Associates of New London; Dr. Mustapha Kemal of L+M; Jeff Messina, owner of Fort Hill Pharmacy in Groton; Dr. John Paggioli of the Eastern Connecticut Pain Treatment Center in Norwich and Dr. Samuel Silverman, Medical Director of Substance Abuse Service at Rushford Center and Assistant Clinical Professor at the UConn School of Medicine.

The panel will discuss topics such as identifying drug-seeking behaviors, alternative methods for pain management, the cycle of addiction, and the Connecticut Prescription Drug Monitoring Program. A Q&A session will follow.
