WHS Jazz Ensemble at Bash at the Beach

Mr. Fioravanti, a music director at the Waterford High School, is proud to present his students to the community. This year, he got a gig for the Waterford High jazz ensemble in the Bash at the Beach event at Port and Starboard at Ocean Beach Park. Bash at the Beach is a fundraiser for youth activities, libraries, sports, and the arts organized by the former New London City Councilor Michael Buscetto III. The Waterford High Music Department is one of the organizations that receives donations from the event. Thank you Mr. Buscetto!!!

The jazz ensemble performed a few tunes that we play at the WHS football games: Village People’s “YMCA”; The Spencer Davis Group’s “Gimme Some Lovin’”; Onward Lancers, the school Fight Song; and Richard Berry’s “Louie, Louie” as an encore tune. The audience sang along to the pieces, and they couldn’t help but spell out YMCA with their arms when the song was played. It was a cheerful evening that everyone enjoyed.
