Five things to help you plan your day in Waterford on Thursday, August 1, 2013.

1. It's a lovely morning but weather.com is predicting more clouds as the day goes on. There's a 40 percent chance for rain showers later this afternoon and a 70 percent chance of rain and possibly thunderstorms this evening. The high temperature should be a seasonable 78 degrees with an overnight low of 68 degrees.

2. Today is the deadline for property taxes! Don't forget to pay if you haven't already.

Waterford South 9- 10-year-old girls softball team will be at Filomena's restaurant on Boston Post Road from 6 to 9 p.m. this evening for "Tip a Kid" to raise money for a trip to Forge, Pennsylvania for the eastern seaboard regional tournament. They won the State, they took New England, and they're still in it to win it!

4. The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center in Waterford cabaret series presents Barb Jungr Stockport to Memphis, 8 p.m., this evening. For information, call (860) 443-1238 or go to www.theoneill.org
