Groundbreaking At Waterford High School

Superintendent Jerome Belair, Others Give Speeches

Thursday at 10:30 a.m., the official groundbreaking ceremony for the was held at Waterford High School.

At the event, Superintendent Jerome Belair, Board of Education Chairman Donald Blevins, State Sen. Andrea Stillman, State Rep. Betsy Ritter, First Selectman Dan Steward and Waterford High School Principal Donald Macrino all gave speeches to a crowd of about 40. All discussed the effort it took to get this renovation started, and thanked the generosity of the town’s taxpayers.

The work on the school began two months ago; and is expected to be done by January 2013. The project was expected to cost $68 million overall, although construction bids have come in .
